The Founder's Story

Sly Technologies was founded in 2005 by Mark Bednarczyk, a software engineer and network architect with deep experience designing and securing enterprise networks for Fortune 500 companies.

After years working with inadequate network analysis tools, Mark saw an opportunity to do something different. "I kept running into the same problem," he recalls. "The tools available were either too expensive, didn't perform well enough, or were closed-source black boxes. I knew we could build something better—and make it accessible to everyone."

That vision became Sly Technologies.

Starting with jNetPcap, Mark built a library that combined enterprise-grade performance with open-source accessibility. The response was immediate and overwhelming—developers and security professionals worldwide embraced a tool that finally met their needs without breaking their budgets.

Today, Mark continues to lead Sly Technologies as CEO, driving innovation in high-performance network analysis while maintaining the company's commitment to open-source excellence and accessible security tools.
