About Sly Technologies

High-performance packet capture and network analysis.
Founded in 2005. Headquartered in Tampa, Florida.

Sly Technologies builds tools for capturing, analyzing, and securing network traffic at scale. Our SDKs have been deployed in production environments worldwide for over two decades. The Vantage Platform — Packet Intelligence at Exascale brings that same engineering to enterprise-grade packet infrastructure — from single-laptop analysis to petabyte-scale capture and virtual filesystems.

Two Decades of Packet Innovation

2005
Sly Technologies founded. Initial development of Java-based packet capture libraries.
2008
jNetPcap open-sourced under Apache 2.0. Rapid adoption in academic and commercial environments.
2014
Became an authorized Napatech technology partner and exclusive reseller for SmartNIC adapters in the US and Canada. Shared exhibition booths at RSA Conference, Black Hat, and other industry events.
2018
Launched jNetWorks SDK with DPDK kernel-bypass and Napatech SmartNIC support, achieving 800 Gbps sustained packet capture with zero packet loss.
2025
Published the Bonafide open security specification v1.0.
2026
ExaViewer, ExaCapture, and ExaVolume launched as standalone products. Vantage Platform announced as the unified enterprise platform.

Bonafide

Bonafide is an open specification by Sly Technologies for user-sovereign encrypted data vaults. Originated inside our Vantage Platform, where Vantage Vault and hardware-enforced security levels were engineered to protect PII in enterprise traffic capture.

Privacy by architecture, not by promise.

Research & Government

We work with universities and government agencies to advance network security and privacy-enhancing technology through funded research and innovation programs.

University Collaboration

Sly Technologies partners with university research programs on hardware security, FPGA-accelerated cryptography, and formal verification of security architectures. We are actively developing research partnerships with universities in the areas of hardware security and privacy-enhancing technologies.

Government Innovation

We engage with U.S. government innovation programs focused on digital identity, privacy infrastructure, and cybersecurity. Sly Technologies is exploring opportunities with federal programs that support emerging privacy-preserving technologies.

Community First

Both jNetPcap and jNetWorks core modules are open source under Apache 2.0 and published on Maven Central. The high-performance backends (DPDK and Napatech SmartNIC) are commercial add-ons available through our product portal.
